Dive Right In To
An Adventure
& Roll With It

Quick & Dicey is like an RPG, but is more of a "Party-Playing" Adventuring Game, by David Perry (Co-author & Composer of Principia Apocrypha). If, like me, you have a strong desire to play or design adventures and dungeons in an old school style, but have low social energy, "Attention Surplus Syndrome", a busy schedule, or not enough interested friends, this game is for us.

It's tightly designed to support a GM (called the Guide) running one player with a whole party of adventurers through any RPG adventure module or dungeon in a high-impact, low-overhead manner, without trivializing core aspects of the Old School playstyle such as player ingenuity, problem-solving, emergent situations, discovery, resource management, deadly threats, drive to advance, and risk vs reward. It's also a great fit for fast solo play and playtesting adventures!

Read more about the Design Intent of Q&D and why you might like it in this devlog.

The one-page player facing rules are available right over here ->
And you can play right now - grab some D6s, an adventure you're excited about, a friend (optional if playing solo), and give it a try!

What's In The Full Version?

12+ pages including GM Principles & Guidance tailored to the game, extra optional rules for certain situations that may come up in the course of adventuring, tables for rolling adventurer archetypes, names, and party names, and a Party Sheet (including a Google Sheet version).

You'll also be contributing toward the Itchfunding Roadmap, for enhanced versions of the game, which you will get for free.

And... you'll encourage me to make more games!

Do Note...

The light nature of the rules and speed of play do lean on the GM being comfortable with on-the-fly rulings, proactive framing, and flexible interpretation. It will help to have some experience running games in a freeform manner, such as Maze RatsTunnel Goons, or World of Dungeons

And if the Old School playstyle described above is new to you, do have a read of the Principia Apocrypha.

Itchfunding Roadmap

I've put a lot of time and effort into honing Quick & Dicey's function, but less into its form. I'm quite proud of my editing and layout skills, forged as they are within the strict constraints of Google Docs. But I plan to make it into a much more aesthetically appealing package over time, and as I put more work in and/or commission folks to spruce up its presentation, its price will increase a bit.

The intended final price is $6

(WE ARE HERE) Initial Release: $2

The core rules have been playtested and revised through multiple versions to align with my design intent for the game. Some minor revision updates may be made during this time.

(NEXT MILESTONE) Final Rules Revision: $3

From your feedback!

GOAL FOR THIS MILESTONE: Receiving playtest question answers from 5 people who have run the game, and general feedback from at least 5 more! The questions are at the front of the PDF and can be sent to the email address listed there. They are also listed in the devlog and feedback can be added as comments there.

See The Full Roadmap Here

If you would like to hear as soon as Q&D is updated or hits a new milestone, toss your email into the Foolish Endeavor mailing list.
